Not for the faint-hearted traveler

The hotel was clean but honestly, it's seen better days. The staff were friendly and you can sense they try hard, I had an interaction with a gentleman at the front desk who was very accommodating when I asked about room service.

I thought I was getting a deal going in but the price was still a bit steep for the quality of the stay.

great walking access to parks and local dining options

I stayed for one night and found great spots nearby, like Riverfront Park just 500 meters away for a lovely stroll and Jimmy's on the James only a few steps from my hotel for a delicious meal. the comfy beds made my stay even better despite a few minor maintenance issues.

great location

outdoor pool

grand has a fantastic location! it's near the river and a lovely park. everything downtown is within walking distance, which makes exploring a breeze. the outdoor rooftop swimming pool was a great place to unwind after a day out. the fitness center was also a nice perk to keep up with workouts.

The staff was extremely friendly, and I enjoyed the comfortable bed and pillows during my stay. However, the air conditioning in my room was not functioning properly, and the television was almost unwatchable with many channels out of service. Also, the absence of an available coffee maker in any part of the hotel was a major inconvenience.

I had an absolute blast with my friends during our stay! We checked out some local attractions, and the on-site parking made everything super easy. The staff was super friendly and helpful, which made our trip even better. Just a heads up to future guests, the A/C can be a bit finicky, so be prepared. Overall, I recommend this place for a fun getaway.

One downside was that the A/C in our first room didn’t work as well as we hoped. It took a while to cool down, which was a bit frustrating.

Super friendly staff, but hot rooms

So we checked in and the staff was really nice! The lobby looked great too. When we got to our room, the AC wasn't working right and it was super hot. I had to go back down to get a different room. The second room was better with cold air, but the phone and TV had issues. Overall, not the best experience. They have a nice breakfast area though!
